Church House - Montrose Getaway

Good base in which to explore the wider Angus area. Positive: The property was easy to find, spacious and clean and tidy. There was a second bedroom that we didn’t use. We had to reach out to the owners of the property on a couple of times during our stay. We found them to be quick to respond, polite and helpful. We used the property as a base to explore the wider Angus area. Glamis Castle and House of Dun aren’t far away. Up the coast we visited St Cyrus Nature Reserve and beach. The Quayside Restaurant and Fish Bar and Harbour bar next door, in Gourdon is worth a visit. Negative: No garden. It has a small outside space to front but probably only gets limited sunlight I would imagine. It is set back and looks out towards a road and nursery on opposite side of road.

Lovely house, fab location. Positive: Lovely house, it looked tiny from the outside, but was a great size. A tardis! Very comfortable lounge, great kitchen with everything you would need. Both bedrooms were lovely, very comfortable beds - we both slept really well the 4 nights we stayed. Fab shower. Little decked area outside with a table and chairs. Great location, with the park right outside, about a 4 minute walk to the High Street. The beach was about a 15 minute walk. Our little dog loved the park and the beach! We would definitely return, and would recommend. Negative: Nothing, really. We couldn't really sit out on the decking because a baby seagull had taken up residency, ,but it wasn't a big deal. The wee seagull was cute!

Great location Positive: The location is great. Very central but quiet, easy walk to the beach. There is a small enclosed front garden that our dog particularly appreciated as she could sit and watch the world go by. The flat was very comfortable, we slept well , good mattress, kitchen had everything we needed Negative: Black mound in the shower. I went and bought a specific mould spray to clean that. Normal bathroom detergent or even bleach don't really work for that. The windows seemed painted shut (at least I didn't manage to open them and as they are beautiful original sash windows, I was reluctant to use force) so we just left the front door open for fresh air (which is fine because of the gated front garden, and the entrance being set back from the pavement)
