Charming lodge next to the beach
Positive: The Gate Lodge is a charming Victorian era building with high ceilings and lovely architecture. The location is next to beach and there is a beautiful view of the Firth of Tay. There is a garden with a gazebo and barbecue. There is plenty of parking. Buses are nearby. A walking/cycling path close by goes along the Tay to Broughty Ferry and Dundee. It is a relaxing scenic place to stay. The place was very clean and appliances were modern.
Negative: The hammock on the deck needs replacing. The heating system needed adjusting, but once it was sorted it worked fine. Grocery stores and restaurants are a 20 min walk away.
